I like to use the communicative approach. I focus on ss learning and oral practice during class in order to develop a good communication with people on the second language. I like to use pair exercises, trio exercises.
During class I practice drilling in order to develop new vocabulary. At the same time I try to develop a good pronunciation on new vocabulary.
Conversation is very important in class. It is held by ss and the teacher. At the same time, they develop the conversation between them and, at the same time, they are monitored by teacher so he can correct the mistakes made during the conversation.
Multiple descriptions are held during class using pictures or graphics which are selected by students so they feel familiarised with such graphics in order to provide a good presentation before class.
Assessment is very important. Assessment allows to have a track of the advances of students. Assessment is constant and it is not based only on exams.
I think grammar should be taught through exercises such gap filling, multiple choices.
Reading is a must in class. After reading we check new learning through exercises.
If it is possible, I use flipped classroom to grant student the possibility to show their knowledge during class. After their presentation, feedback is provided by teacher focusing on mistakes.
Finally we need to focus on writing. I like to give an extract to ss so they can develop their writings using the vocabulary and grammar leaned in class.
